Daily life
Lagos is a town on the coast; Lisbon is a capital / metropolis on the coast. Lagos is a small Algarve town with famous cliffs and coves, a big English-speaking community and over 3,000 hours of sun a year. It is busy in summer, quiet in winter and you will want a car for anything beyond the town. Lisbon is the best-connected and most international city in Portugal, with sunshine, a big nomad scene and direct flights to the US. It is also the most expensive Portuguese city and the one with the tightest housing, so budget for rent first.
