Daily life
Granada is a mid-size city; Madrid is a capital / metropolis. Granada is a student city at the foot of the Sierra Nevada with the Alhambra, free tapas culture and some of the lowest rents in Spain. Madrid is Spain's capital and its best-connected city: world-class museums, a superb metro, big-city jobs and nonstops to much of the US. It is landlocked, hot in summer and cold in winter, and rents sit near the top of the Spanish range.
